Spring in Finland: A Fresh Start

After a long winter, spring arrives, and it feels like the whole country is taking a deep breath of fresh air. In Finland, spring takes place from March to May. Temperatures gradually rise from a chilly 0°C to a more comfortable 10°C by May. The snow melts and the forests turn green, and flowers start to bloom. The days also become longer, so you can enjoy more sunlight and outdoor activities.

This is a time of renewal and optimism, and people are happy to be outside enjoying the cafes and streets. In spring, many birds migrate back to Finland, and you can hear their beautiful songs in the air. It's a time of new beginnings, making it a great time to start a new job or adventure in Finland.

Summer: The Season of Light

Summer (June to August) here is a cherished season, characterized by the Midnight Sun, an extraordinary natural phenomenon where the sun doesn't fully set for weeks, especially above the Arctic Circle. This eternal daylight fuels an energy in people and nature alike.
Temperatures range from a pleasant 15°C to 25°C, ideal for outdoor activities. Forests become lush and lakes warm enough for swimming, turning the country into an outdoor enthusiast's paradise. Autumn: The Symphony of Colors

As summer comes to an end, autumn brings a beautiful display of colors that cover nature in shades of gold, red, and orange. Autumn happens between September and November, and it's a great time for taking pictures and going for peaceful walks in the countryside. Autumn is also the time when Finnish cuisine is at its best, with fresh berries, mushrooms, and game. But it's not just about the pretty scenery; autumn is a time for getting ready for winter, as Finns prepare themselves for the cold months ahead. Temperatures cool down significantly, and we start seeing temperatures varying from 10°C to below 0°C. The first snow often arrives in the north by late October, while the south enjoys the colorful foliage a bit longer.

Winter: The Wonderland

Finland's winter season is a beautiful time of year, where the country transforms into a snowy wonderland. While the southern region experiences a milder winter, the northern part, especially Lapland, is covered in deep snow, which offers a lot of fun activities such as skiing, snowboarding, and husky sledding. It's also the season of the Northern Lights, a magical natural phenomenon that displays beautiful colors of green and pink across the sky.

In the south, temperatures are usually between -10°C and 0°C, but there are also periods when the temperature can go down even to -20°C. In the north, it is colder, and the temperature drops down to -20 °C or even -30°C. The first snow in the south usually falls in late November or December and lasts until early April. In the north, snow covers the ground from October to early May, offering a longer season for winter enthusiasts.
