Responsibilities
Your Role:
As the Restaurant Manager, you will oversee all daily operations of the unit—both front-of-house and kitchen. You will ensure high‑quality service, strong financial performance, and a great team culture while enhancing the restaurant’s concept throughout the winter season.
Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Management
- Lead the restaurant as a full operational unit.
- Ensure smooth daily operations and service according to the service model.
- Oversee kitchen operations with the Head Chef (purchasing, inventory, portions, efficiency).
- Monitor sales, profitability, budgeting, and cost control.
- Maintain hygiene, safety, and compliance (self-monitoring, contracts, reporting, etc.).
- Track and update efficiency tables and verify purchase invoices.
- Manage drink orders and inventory (raw materials, beverages, supplies).
- Handle feedback and complaints via the Taplause platform.
- Plan marketing activities and seasonal campaigns.
- Support daily operations directly with the team.
- Create work shift schedules that align with staffing plans.
- Collaborate with sales services and follow the values of hotel restaurant.
- Ensure correct internal system usage (Biovaaka, Teams, etc.).
- Maintain the restaurant atmosphere—cleanliness, lighting, music, table setting.
Self‑Management
- Plan your work schedule to balance presence on the floor and necessary office work.
- Delegate tasks effectively and manage your own wellbeing.
- Recognize when support from upper management is needed.
Team Leadership
- Lead, guide, and train employees in their roles.
- Ensure staff performance meets required standards.
- Follow the HR processes of the hotel restaurant and conduct regular one‑to‑one check‑ins.
- Build shift combinations based on team strengths and wellbeing.
- Communicate proactively and support the team in daily operations.
To thrive in this role, you should have:
- Proven experience in restaurant management or a senior supervisory role in hospitality.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to inspire and guide your team.
- A hands‑on, lead‑by‑example approach on the floor and during busy shifts.
- Solid understanding of restaurant operations—service flow, kitchen coordination, cost control, and inventory.
- Excellent organizational skills, even under pressure.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holiday shifts during the winter season.
- Fluent English; additional languages are a plus.
- EU citizenship or a valid Finnish work permit (required).
- A proactive, positive mindset and a commitment to creating exceptional guest experiences.
